Estonia has a desire to send its military personnel to Ukraine as part of a joint NATO mission.
The government of Estonia is considering the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine so that the Estonian military can take over rear operations in western Ukraine. This was stated on Monday, May 13, in an interview with Breaking Defense, the national security adviser of the Estonian president, Madis Roll.
According to him, Estonia wants to take such a step as part of the NATO mission, but it is possible that the deployment of troops will take place within the framework of a smaller coalition.
"Discussions continue. We must consider all possibilities. We should not limit our minds as to what we can do," said the adviser to the Estonian president.
He also emphasized that it is "not excluded" that NATO countries opposing such a move will change their opinion "over time".
