The governments of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan are ready to strengthen strategic partnership

by .During the official visit of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov to Tajikistan on April 30, the officials of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan confirmed their commitment to maintaining the high dynamics of strategic partnership in all spheres and outlined the prospects for trade and economic cooperation, the press service of the Prime Minister reports .

The program of Bektenov's visit to Dushanbe included meetings with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda to discuss Kazakhstan-Tajik cooperation in the sphere of trade and investment, industrial cooperation, energy, agriculture and transport, as well as water- energy cooperation.
Kazakhstan is the fourth largest trading partner of Tajikistan. It is expected that the governments of both countries will double the turnover to 2 billion dollars.
Intergovernmental negotiations took place in an expanded format and were devoted to measures to strengthen cooperation and diversify trade flows. The Kazakh side expressed readiness to increase the export of 85 items of goods worth almost 190 million dollars.

The parties emphasized the importance of the development of industrial cooperation and outlined the urgency of creating new joint export-oriented enterprises. Taking into account Kazakhstan's extensive experience, the parties discussed the possibility of joint development of deposits and implementation of projects in Tajikistan.
Also, the Kazakh and Tajik delegations considered the possibility of increasing the export volume of locomotives, diesel locomotives, turnouts, transformers, agricultural machinery, batteries, and vehicles of Kazakh production.
Also on the agenda of the meeting was discussed the issue of cooperation in the water sphere, including the chairmanship of Kazakhstan in the International Fund to Save the Aral Sea.
Touching on issues of cooperation in digitization, the parties discussed the implementation of cooperation agreements, within the framework of which the components of Kazakhstan's electronic government were exported to Tajikistan .
During the meeting, the parties also discussed issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation, including the holding of Days of Culture of Kazakhstan in Tajikistan. Bektenov noted the importance of the monument to the great Kazakh poet and writer Abai Kunanbayev, which will soon be opened in Dushanbe.
